The next morning, Fawn waved cheerfully at Beck as she flew into the tearoom for breakfast. “Fly with you, Beck!” Fawn said.
“Fly with you, Fawn!” replied Beck. She took the seat next to Fawn and reached for a platter of pancakes. “Up to any more midnight mystery pranks last night?” she asked.
“Not that I can remember!” Fawn replied.
Beck picked up the jug of blueberry syrup next to her plate. She poured some syrup onto her pancakes. Then she put the jug back in the center of the table. She let go of the jug, but it wouldn’t let go of her. It was stuck to her hand! She shook and shook her hand, but she couldn’t shake it free!
Beck looked at Fawn sideways.
“Okay,” Fawn said, “that one I do remember.”
